International law firm CMS is pleased to announce the appointment of Vivian Walry as Managing Partner of its Luxembourg office, along with the appointment of Aurélien Hollard to the Management Board.
A founding partner of CMS in Luxembourg, Vivian has played a pivotal role in the development of the firm, notably leading the banking & finance practice for the past 13 years and serving on the management board since January 2023. In his new role, Vivian will coordinate the firm’s operations and bring strategic vision to strengthen the firm’s continued growth and innovation.
Vivian reacted “I am truly honoured to have been chosen to lead CMS in Luxembourg. I am excited to build on the strong foundation laid by Frédéric, and I look forward to working closely with our talented team to drive our vision forward. Together, we will continue delivering the highest standards of service to our clients while fostering an environment that promotes growth, innovation, and collaboration. I am confident that, with the support of the management board and our dedicated professionals, we are well- positioned for the future."
Vivian succeeds Frédéric, whose term as Managing Partner saw the firm grow exponentially, establishing it as one of the 10 largest law firms in Luxembourg. Frédéric will remain actively involved in shaping the firm’s future, notably in his role as head of the tax practice.
Frédéric commented: “I am grateful for the opportunity to have served as Managing Partner and for the trust the firm has placed in me over the years. The growth and success we’ve seen would not have been possible without the dedication of our team. I look forward to supporting the firm in a more focused role within the tax practice, knowing that the firm’s leadership is in capable hands with Vivian at the helm.”
Looking ahead, the firm’s leadership will continue under the guidance of the Management Board. Since its implementation at the beginning of 2023, this collective leadership model has proven highly effective, fostering enhanced collaboration and drawing insights from across the firm to create a more inclusive and dynamic decision-making environment. The board now includes Managing Partner Vivian Walry, Renaud Dupont, and newly appointed member Aurélien Hollard. With his extensive experience as head of our investment funds practice, Aurélien brings both deep expertise and a fresh perspective that will be invaluable in helping shape the firm’s future.
