Dentons has strengthened its Brussels office with the recruitment of partner Tom Geudens as Head of the Banking and Finance practice in Belgium. He joins along with his team consisting of senior associate Matthias De Cock and associate Brandon Cheliotis.
Tom Geudens advises banks, corporations, and public sector bodies on asset-based lending, leveraged finance, asset finance, acquisition finance, and export finance transactions, as well as project finance and PPP/PFI projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors. Furthermore, he advises on debt and equity capital markets transactions, including securitizations, repacks, derivatives, and high yield bonds. He has deep knowledge of financial services regulatory issues, including clearing, settlement and custody, banking regulatory and investment funds, and key European regulations such as PSD2, MiFID2, AIFMD, CRR, CRD and EMIR. Prior to joining Dentons, he led the Banking and Finance team at Lydian.
He is ranked as a leading lawyer in Banking and Finance in Belgium by Chambers Global, Chambers Europe, The Legal 500 EMEA, and IFLR1000.
