Leading independent law firm Liedekerke is pleased to announce the arrival of Bety Waknine in its Regulatory team. Former General Director of urban.brussels, Bety has decided to leave the public sector after nearly 20 years of commitment and expertise in urban planning and territorial development.
A Brussels native, her deep expertise in urban and environmental law, combined with her knowledge of the Brussels administrative landscape, will certainly make for valuable contri- butions for Liedekerke's clients, including developers, investors, architects, and public au- thorities.
Bety commented: "At Liedekerke, I intend to use my knowledge and practical expertise to reduce the prevailing sentiment that it is very difficult to bring an urban project to fruition in Brussels. In my opinion, a good understanding of the urban context and a well-thought- out project in all its dimensions should be able to satisfy investors, authorities, and local residents alike. I am happy that Liedekerke offers me the opportunity to further my devel- opment in this sense while benefitting from its experience and quality teams, which I will help to grow."
Alexandre Emond and Etienne Kairis, co-Managing Partners of Liedekerke, expressed their enthusiasm for this new collaboration. "We are delighted to welcome Bety to our team," they said. "Her expertise in urbanism, sense of innovation, and determination to solve complex legal problems will be major assets for our firm. Our ambition is to provide our clients not only with top-tier legal advice but also with practical solutions tailored to their needs. Our firm is committed to being the partner of choice for those seeking innova- tive and tailored legal advice."
François Tulkens, Partner in the Regulatory practice and Chairman of the Board of Liedekerke, also highlighted the importance of this new recruit: "Bety brings a unique expertise that few firms can offer. We are confident that her integration will be swift and lead to a productive collaboration. We trust her experience, reputation, and solution-ori- ented practical sense. Our greatest satisfaction, in the real estate department, is to see good projects come to fruition and to have legally assisted them. Bety shares these same ambitions."
The Regulatory department of Liedekerke, recognised for its excellence in advisory roles and litigation, continues to develop to best serve the interests of its clients, both in the public and private sectors. With its multilingual and diverse teams, the firm offers legal support that co- vers all federal and regional entities in Belgium.
