Your role

The selected candidate will bring significant teaching and research experience in procedural law, and will engage with stakeholders in the Luxembourg procedural world.

The selected candidate will participate in the educational activities of the Faculty, providing reliable and high-quality teaching capacity at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels. Regarding the teaching portfolio, the candidate will be expected to teach procedural law and civil procedure, as well as related subjects such as enforcement law or international litigation. She/he may also be asked, where appropriate, to teach legal methodology or fundamental courses in private law.

The selected candidate will be expected to conduct high-level research, on the one hand, in Luxembourg civil procedure, and on the other hand, on more general issues that could lead to publications in leading international journals. As one of the university’s strategic priorities is digital transformation, the selected candidate will be expected to conduct research on the impact of the digital revolution on civil procedure and judicial systems, where appropriate in collaboration with colleagues from the Faculty or the University.

The successful candidate will also be willing to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate is expected to be willing to seek external funding from various sources and to be ready to contact and actively engage with other research institutions and industry to establish research cooperations in Luxembourg and beyond.

Your profile

  • Master degree and PhD degree in Law
  • Publications in internationally recognised journals
  • Experience and aptitude for teaching and supervising research at the university level
  • Ability and interest in engaging in academic research at the highest level

Language requirements:

The University of Luxembourg is set in a multilingual context. The person hired on this position must be proficient in French and English. Fluency in other languages, particularly German would be considered an advantage. The University provides access to language courses to this end. The University encourages its staff also to learn German.
