Fondée en 1856, la Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL) est la plus ancienne banque universelle du Grand-Duché. As a Legal Counsel within our Banking & Finance Debt Recovery team, you will be responsible for handling significant cross-border recovery matters, regulatory and criminal investigations as well as managing the application of legal rules governing garnishments, summonses, bankruptcies in order to protect the bank against disputes, contestations and risk of losses. This is a fixed-term contract of 12 months.

Your next challenge:

Analyze, prepare and manage recovery matters within different jurisdictions
Assess the relevant legal approach to be taken to successfully managed debt recovery matters (reimbursement programs, transactions, over-indebtedness etc.) or legal procedures (real estate foreclosures or forced sales, seizures & transfers on wages, guarantees, pledges, bank guarantees etc.), in collaboration with our legal or non-legal intermediaries (lawyers, notaries, bailiffs, recovery companies)
Assist the management in adapting the bank’s procedures to legislative changes, new products

Your skills:

A Master’s Degree in Law
A strong experience in recovery process would be appreciated
Interest in complex legal issues
A good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
Known for hitting deadlines and are result-oriented and assertive
Fluent in English and French
