Law firm CMS Luxembourg is strengthening its Investment Funds practice with the appointment of Julia Bruzzese as Partner.
Julia has been working for CMS since 2020 and she has been active in the Luxembourg funds industry for more than 10 years, gaining valuable experience in both liquid funds (UCITS and open-ended AIFs) and illiquid alternative strategies. Leveraging her extensive experience and expertise across both sectors, Julia’s promotion to Partner not only enhances CMS’s capabilities but also strengthens its position in the marketplace, particularly in light of the evolving trend towards retailisation.
Julia also leads CMS’s dedicated team that focuses on assisting investment fund managers and other fund service providers (e.g. depositaries and administrative agents), offering comprehensive support to navigate regulatory complexities, mitigate risks and achieve compliance objectives in today’s dynamic regulatory environment.
She is an active member of various key committees within the fund industry’s leading associations. Her work has not only earned her acclaim from clients and colleagues but has also led to notable mentions in Legal 500 and IFLR1000. In 2021, her expertise was further recognised when Acritas named her an ‘Independently rated lawyer’.
Partner and Head of Investment Funds at CMS Luxembourg Aurélien Hollard commented: “Julia has been playing a pivotal role in the success of our practice since her arrival, in particular thanks to her skills, her exceptional human qualities and her commitment, which are already valuable assets recognised by our clients. We are delighted to see her work and leadership recognised with this appointment. I look forward to keep working on the firm’s expansion with Julia as Partner.”
Julia’s appointment puts CMS Luxembourg’s partnership into double digits, with 10 partners. It follows a wave of 26 promotions announced on 1 March across all practice areas, as CMS continues to strengthen its position in the Luxembourg market.
