Brussels, 3 March 2025 – Lydian is proud to announce that Pieter-Jan Leemen has joined the firm as a Partner and will head our Banking & Finance practice. Pieter-Jan’s arrival brings fresh momentum to the team, further strengthening and expanding Lydian’s capabilities in handling complex financial transactions, both in Belgium and internationally.
With more than 12 years of experience, Pieter-Jan brings in-depth expertise and a dynamic perspective to Lydian’s Banking & Finance team. He advises a wide range of clients, including private equity and debt funds, financial institutions, corporates, and government bodies, on a broad spectrum of financial transactions. His expertise includes syndicated lending, acquisition financing, project finance, restructurings, and real estate financing, guiding clients through the entire financing process—from initial structuring to closing.
Pieter-Jan holds a law degree from KU Leuven (2012), where he also obtained a postgraduate degree in corporate finance (2015). Prior to joining Lydian, he built his expertise as a banking and finance lawyer at an international law firm and later as counsel in the banking and finance team of a leading independent Benelux firm in Brussels.
Recognised as a “Rising Star” by Legal 500, Pieter-Jan frequently speaks at seminars on emerging trends in finance and transaction structures.
