International law firm Luther has announced that Bob Scharfe has been appointed the new Managing Partner of the Luxembourg office, with effect from 1 January 2025, coinciding with the firm’s 15th anniversary in the Grand-Duchy.
In addition to his new role, Bob will continue to lead the Luxembourg banking, finance and capital markets practice, advising clients on international and domestic finance and regulatory transactions. Bob joined Luther in 2018, after gaining experience in international law firms in Luxembourg.

Reflecting on his tenure, Sublon says: “It has been incredibly gratifying to lead Luther over the past 15 years to become a household name and an established player in the Luxembourg legal landscape, with talented and passionate people driving our success. As I hand over the reins to Bob, he will be able to count on the unfailing support of all the partners, who have unanimously endorsed this choice and I wish him every success in his new role. Bob has been with the firm for six years and has demonstrated leadership and a deep commitment to our clients and our core values. We are confident that Bob will lead the firm to new horizons.”

I will also do my utmost to ensure that we continue to provide the highest quality legal services, foster a culture of inclusivity and collaboration, and adapt to the ever-changing legal landscape”.
Markus Sengpiel, co-Managing Partner of Luther Germany comments: "We are delighted that Bob will be heading our Luxembourg office. He will undoubtedly excel in this role and with his international mindset reflects very well Luther’s offering and ambitions, with offices in 11 important locations in Europe and Asia. Eric has successfully developed Luther’s legal offering while reflecting at the same time our key values.”
