What your future may hold

As a member of the legal division of the Euroclear group holding company, you will provide legal advice and support on a broad spectrum of matters, with a focus on Euroclear FundsPlace, the Euroclear group’s fund services.

As a senior funds lawyer at Euroclear, your main responsibilities will be:

  • supporting the creation and enhancement of services in the context of the Euroclear FundsPlace strategy, from conceptualization to continuous evolution;
  • providing comprehensive advice on applicable laws and regulations (e.g. MiFIDII, UCITS, AIFMD, CSDR, ELTIF) and foreign law, covering topics such as asset protection, securities laws, investment funds, and capital market regulations;
  • drafting and negotiating contracts with counterparts and clients, such as order processing or custody agreements and (fund) distribution or placement agreements;
  • punctually offering general legal support on a variety of matters and projects, such as client onboarding, claims handling, escalations, incidents, and foreign law;
  • closely collaborating with other lawyers within the Legal Division, but also with business clients, risk colleagues, and other internal business teams (such as compliance, product management, operations, etc.);
  • developing and delivering training and guidance on legal matters to Euroclear staff.

Your skillset

  • You hold a European Master’s in Law;
  • 12 years or more of relevant experience in the funds industry and/or capital markets, preferably in a law firm (specialized in the financial sector) or as an in-house counsel of a bank or other financial institution;
  • Strong knowledge of the financial industry, funds and market practices;
  • Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in French is a plus;
  • A true teamplayer who collaborates dynamically with colleagues and motivates others to achieve shared goals;
  • You demonstrate flexibility and the ability to provide high-quality, consistent support across jurisdictions in a timely and cost-efficient manner;
  • You bring maturity and drive, demonstrating project management skills and a proactive mindset;
  • You stay resilient under stress and pressure, think creatively, and stay organized while handling multiple priorities;
  • You possess strong analytical skills and have a pragmatic approach;
  • You are eager to learn and willing to build a solid understanding of the business.
