To support its growth and ambitions, Niko is seeking a driven Senior Legal Counsel to strengthen its team.

In this position, you will be responsible for guiding Niko’s various companies on legal matters, with a strong focus on contract law and corporate law. You will report directly to the CFO.

Your responsibilities:

• Commercial Contracts: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts and other legal documents.
• Legal Support: Advising the business on a wide range of legal issues.
• Legal Database: Contributing to the development and management of an advanced legal database (templates, know-how, case management).
• Dispute Management: Handling disputes, claims, and legal proceedings, whether independently or in collaboration with external law firms.
• Insurance: Overseeing insurance matters.
• Legislation: Keeping track of relevant legislation (GDPR, IP, competition law) and analyzing its impact on the business, including providing training.

You have a Master’s degree in Law and at least 5 years of experience as an in-house legal counsel or lawyer.

• You have a strong background in contract law and corporate law and are well-versed in GDPR. Knowledge of IP law and/or competition law is a plus.
• You are fluent in Dutch and have excellent knowledge of English and French.
• You communicate openly and directly and have a customer-oriented, pragmatic, and commercial approach. You are entrepreneurial, independent, and a loyal team player. You think in terms of solutions and approach challenges in a thoughtful, results-driven manner.
