We're on the lookout for a vibrant Jr. Legal Counsel to become a vital member of our Legal team in Luxembourg. You'll play a crucial role in facilitating the launch, distribution, and investment into underlying funds, all of which are essential for Moonfare's success. You will:

  • Support fund launches and ongoing fund management activities from a legal perspective, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Assist with co-investment deals, subscription documents, and investor-related queries, collaborating with the Sales team to resolve legal matters effectively
  • Support commitments into underlying funds by ensuring legal documentation, including distribution documents and limited partnership agreements, remains accurate, up to date, and aligned with investment structures
  • Coordinate internally and collaborate closely with Investments, Fund Operations, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure legal requirements are met effectively across different business functions
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to working students, offering support in daily tasks, helping to allocate responsibilities efficiently, and fostering their professional development
  • Manage various ad hoc tasks, including document due diligence, compliance activities, addressing investor queries, and supporting process improvements such as automation initiatives in fund documentation
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation and operational improvements, contributing to enhanced efficiency and workflow automation within the legal function

The next Moonfarian:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law
  • 1-2 years of experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or financial institution
    • Exposure to private equity is preferred
  • Has an understanding of Private Equity and how it works
  • Has a deep understanding of AIFMD/MiFID
  • Has experience in drafting, conducting due diligence, and reviewing legal documentation
  • Has previous experience managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritise tasks, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive attitude and a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities
  • Has exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Has previous experience collaborating with different functions within an organisation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Communication skills in German are preferred but not required
  • Exceptional project management skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
