The European Public Prosecutor’s Office is the independent prosecution office of the European Union. We have the competence to investigate, prosecute and bring to judgment crimes affecting the EU budget, such as fraud, corruption and serious cross-border VAT fraud.


The European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) is seeking applications for the position of a trainee in the Data Protection Office Unit.

As a trainee in the DPO Unit, you will have a unique opportunity to gain proper hands-on experience in a prosecution office and what it means to apply theoretical data protection in practical terms.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Head of the DPO Unit, you will be responsible for:

  • Assistance in the creation and updating of EPPO operational processing operations in the Member States;
  • Assistance in creating and mapping data flows of the EPPO, in the context of IT autonomy;
  • Research in to core questions related to the EPPO’s legal framework, implementation of the LED in the MS, variations, relationship between data protection laws and criminal procedural rules in the hierarchy of norms, best practices in law enforcement supervision in the MS, divergences across MS in LED implementation, etc.
