The European Public Prosecutor’s Office is the independent prosecution office of the European Union. We have the competence to investigate, prosecute and bring to judgment crimes affecting the EU budget, such as fraud, corruption and serious cross-border VAT fraud.


The European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO), the independent public prosecution office of the European Union, is seeking applications for the position of Senior Legal Support Officer.

As a Senior Legal Support Officer and a member of the Operational Legal Support Sector within the Operations Unit, you will provide legal support to the Permanent Chambers and to the European Prosecutors as needed.

Tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Providing legal advice with regard to all the functions of the Permanent Chambers, including:
  • The monitoring and directing of investigations and prosecutions conducted by the European Delegated Prosecutors;
  • The coordination of investigations and prosecutions in cross-border cases;
  • The implementation of decisions taken by the College of the EPPO;
  • Analysing information and documents relevant for the case files and assessing whether, on the basis of the information provided, there are grounds to initiate an investigation or to exercise the right of evocation;
  • Assessing the investigative cases monitored by the Permanent Chambers and providing advice on any information, request or proposal received;
  • Drafting notes on the cases monitored by the Permanent Chambers;
  • Drafting proposals, instructions and decisions adopted by the Permanent Chambers;
  • Drafting operational procedures, rules, decisions and other legal instruments in support of the functioning of the Permanent Chambers;
  • Monitoring the decisions of the Permanent Chambers in order to identify strategic matters and general issues arising from individual cases for information to the College;
  • Contributing to the regular reporting of the Permanent Chambers to the College;
  • Drafting legal opinions and documents on the application and interpretation of the EPPO's legal framework as well as other applicable legal provisions of Union law.
